The objective of this PhD project is to advance computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods for the analysis of structural vibrations induced by two-phase flow. The research will investigate how phase distribution and flow velocities influence fluid–structure interaction (FSI) and will focus on developing novel sub-models for coupled CFD–FEM simulations.
The Department of Reactive Transport is looking for a PhD Student (f/m/d) Tomographic analysis of flow fields in pore networks affected by clogging. The work is being carried out as part of a joint project involving several universities and research institutions, Project consortium: Long-term behaviour of coupled reactive transport processes in deep hydrothermal reservoirs (LangRes).
The experimental works are supported by numerical simulations of project partners inside the doctoral network. Within the project duration of 36 months three transnational secondments of two months each are planned to acquire further knowledge and foster scientific exchange.
